Bible with Life Explains Why Its Films and Music Are All Free

Bible with Life has taken the opposite position. Its 45 animated Bible story films, 63 original worship tracks, daily verse email, prayer challenge, and article library are all free, with no subscription tier and no trial clock.

"The Word of God behind a paywall is a contradiction we did not want to manage," said Benny Yu, founder of Bible with Life. "The moment your Jonah film is a retention metric, you start making decisions for the wrong reasons. We would rather the films simply be there, for anyone, indefinitely."

The platform sustains the work through one deliberately small transaction: its personalized Scripture blessing songs are free to create and share, and senders who want a permanent MP3 copy can purchase a download for $1.99, which also makes the song permanently private. There are no other charges anywhere on the platform.

The economics are unusual by design, Yu said. Rather than maximizing revenue per viewer, the platform keeps its costs low as a small independent team and treats the blessing song downloads as sufficient support for the free library around them.

"People sometimes ask what the catch is," Yu added. "There is no catch. The films and the music are the ministry. The $1.99 download exists so the ministry can pay its server bill. We think that is the right order, and we would rather grow slowly than invert it."

The position also shapes what the platform will not do: no ads inside Scripture films, no locking older content to promote newer content, and no email tactics designed to manufacture urgency. Its daily verse email sends one message a day and includes a one-click unsubscribe.
